Sports massage isn’t a luxury. It’s a tool. Used alongside biokinetics, it manages the soft tissue side of recovery. Used on its own, it resets between hard training blocks.
techniques
Targeted methods. Not generic kneading.
Every session is built around what your body needs that day. Common techniques include:
Deep Tissue Massage
Sustained pressure into deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. Ideal for chronic tension, postural tightness, and stubborn knots.
Trigger Point Therapy
Direct pressure on tight, hyperirritable spots in muscle that refer pain elsewhere. Often the missing piece in chronic neck, back or shoulder pain.
Myofascial Release
Slow, sustained pressure on the connective tissue surrounding muscle. Restores mobility and breaks adhesion patterns from old injuries.
Cupping Therapy
Suction-based technique to lift and decompress tissue, improve blood flow and address restricted areas. Especially useful in upper back, lats and quads.
benefits
WHAT SPORTS MASSAGE ACTUALLY DOES
Faster Recovery
Improved circulation flushes metabolic waste and brings nutrients to recovering tissue, reducing soreness between sessions.
Better Mobility
Releases tight muscles and fascia that limit your range of motion. Lets you squat deeper, reach further, and run more efficiently.
Injury Prevention
Catches small areas of tension and dysfunction before they become full-blown injuries. Especially valuable during heavy training blocks.
even better together
Combine with bio for compounded results.
Massage handles the soft tissue. Biokinetics handles the strength, control and patterning. When you use them together, results compound. Which is exactly why our rehab packages bundle both.
Massage releases the tightness that limits your movement quality.
Biokinetics retrains the body to use that new range of motion properly.
Together, they stop the cycle of constant release and re-tightening for good.
Short on time but need relief? This session focuses on specific problem areas. Perfect for treating muscle tightness, post-workout recovery, or releasing built-up tension from daily activities. Expect focused pressure and hands-on techniques to get you moving comfortably again.
This session offers enough time to address problem areas while still promoting overall relaxation. It is great for reducing stiffness, improving circulation, and helping you bounce back faster from training or daily strain. A solid choice if you need more than a quick fix but don’t have time for a full hour.
A full hour dedicated to deep muscle recovery, relaxation, and restoring movement. Whether you are dealing with muscle imbalances, tension, or fatigue, this session allows us to work through multiple areas, improve circulation, and enhance overall mobility. Ideal for those who want a complete reset.
Massage therapy is not typically claimable from medical aids. Pricing covers the full session including any supportive techniques (cupping, taping).

Common questions
How often should I get a sports massage?
It depends on your training load. For active athletes, every 1 to 2 weeks is common during heavy training. For general maintenance, monthly is a great starting point.
Will it hurt?
Sports massage uses firm pressure and can be uncomfortable in tight areas. But it should never feel sharp or unbearable. We always work to your tolerance and check in throughout the session.
Should I have a massage before or after training?
Both have a place. Pre-training massage tends to be lighter and prep-focused. Post-training (or rest day) massage can be deeper and more recovery-focused. We’ll match the technique to your timing.
Is sports massage covered by medical aid?
Generally no. Sports massage is not claimable from most South African medical aids. It’s billed as a separate service or bundled into one of our rehab packages.
What should I wear?
Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. We’ll work over or under clothing depending on the area being treated. You’ll be appropriately draped throughout.
